WLED: The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of
several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and
systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation,
reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer
and end user.
Job Description: Technical Publications Specialist responsible for the
development and publication of technical documentation related to the
operation and maintenance of the Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS)
system at Raytheon's Seapower Capability Center (SCC ) located in Portsmouth , RI .
Basic Qualifications:
- Proficiency in the creation of Military Specification (MILSPEC)
Technical Manuals.
- Proficiency in use of MS office suite and Adobe Framemaker.
- RPSTL creation experience.
- Working Knowledge of Adobe Frame Maker, Illustrator, Photoshop, and
other authoring software
- Demonstrated competence in the creation of large suites of technical
manuals
- Prior experience and demonstrated competence in the development of
military standard technical publications.
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's
Degree in a technical field with 4 years military publications
experience, or 6 years broad spectrum publications creation &
publication experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of sustainment engineering principles such as Field/Depot
support, Spares and Material Management
- and Supply Support.
- Experience in the creation of Technical Proposals.
- Demonstrated communication skills including excellent verbal & written
presentations to small and large groups.
- Proficiency in the creation Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals
(IETMs).
- Prior military technical writing experience.
